Portuguese as a foreign language textbooks: Framing the discourses on the teaching and learning of writing

Textbooks are a resource that is widely used in language classes. For this reason, they also one of the principal topics research on field didactics. Several studies were conducted about Portuguese as mother tongue textbooks, but there lack researches and information concerning textbooks foreign language. In study, researcher analyses discourse authors/editors ‘opening texts’ for (European) language, levels A1 A2 Common European Framework Reference. The study shows writing competence relatively neglected by authors, infers might reflect way teaching learning activities put into practice. Further will allow to verify if indeed write how thought out organised. Keywords: Language teaching, competencies, Portuguese, competencies.
